Each morning students recite the Pledge of Allegiance in both English and Spanish and you may wonder why? This is how this came about:

- Last year grade 4 students were learning to recite the pledge in Spanish class.

- They requested that we add it to the morning announcements.

- We are always looking for ways to give students agency over their learning and environment.

- The staff has marveled at how quickly students have mastered this concept.

- The second largest language spoken by GS families is Spanish.

- Did you know that Old Saybrook is the second fastest growing town of multilingual families?
