A big thank you to the Florence Griswold Museum for hosting our fourth graders on this beautiful day! Students enjoyed touring Florence Griswold’s historic home, the art gallery, and painting “en plein air” like the Lyme art colony impressionists by the river.

Old Saybrook Community Members,
This morning, a Goodwin student got a knee stuck in the playscape at recess. There were no injuries and members of the volunteer fire department responded and used a wrench to unbolt a piece of the playground and free the child. We want to thank emergency services for their quick response and reassure you that there was no danger to the school community and everyone is ok.

Today, our 6th-grade students got an opportunity to hear from local author and Old Saybrook Public Schools employee, Trent Gerbers, on the importance of revising and editing their work.
Mr. Gerbers gave a short presentation on the editing process, and then he worked individually with several students to help them improve their own pieces.
